Aula Energy secures Financial Close for
Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm;
construction to start early 2026

Aula Energy powering Australia’s clean energy transition with two major wind projects closed in two consecutive years

Aula Energy is pleased to announce that the Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm in South Australia has reached financial close and construction for the ~$900m project is expected to begin in early 2026.

The 256MW wind farm located near Georgetown in South Australia’s Mid North will install 42 turbines and a 275kV transmission line. The project will support up to 200 jobs in the South Australian region during the construction phase and generate clean energy to power more than 195,000 South Australian homes when it begins operation, which is expected in 2028.

Aula Energy achieved its first major milestone with the financial close of its flagship project, Boulder Creek Wind Farm in Central Queensland (co-owned with CS Energy) in September 2024, with the close of Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm now representing Aula Energy’s second major project to reach this milestone since its inception in 2023.

Chad Hymas, CEO of Aula Energy said, “Closing two major wind projects in consecutive years is a clear demonstration of our team’s dedication to building Australia’s clean energy future. From Boulder Creek to Carmody’s Hill, Aula Energy is proving that even in challenging market conditions, we can deliver and make a difference to the sector. As a new leader in Australia’s clean energy transition, we have built deep expertise and have a long-term commitment to create shared value for all.”

Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm was co-developed with Renewable Project Services, prior to Aula Energy assuming sole ownership of the project at financial close. The project recently signed a PPA with Snowy Hydro, and was successful in the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme Tender 4.

Mr Hymas noted the importance of enduring strategic partnerships to lead Australia’s energy transition, faster, smarter, and with shared value for all.

“With finance secured and the support of delivery partners GE Vernova, DT Infrastructure, GHD, Aurecon, and ElectraNet, we’re ready to deliver a project that creates long-term value for the local communities, the traditional owners, the Nukunu People, shareholders, and the sector”.

Aula Energy is committed to ensuring Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm delivers meaningful, long-term benefits for Georgetown, Gulnare, Caltowie, Bundaleer, Washpool, Gladstone and the Nukunu People. It aims to create enduring value that supports regional growth and strengthens community partnerships. Aula Energy 2

Mr Hymas said “Aula Energy extends its appreciation to local communities for their valuable input throughout the development phase. Community feedback has helped shape this project, and we’re grateful for the strong engagement and support. We look forward to continuing this partnership as construction begins and well into the future.”

As part of its commitment to the local region, the Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm will establish a Community Benefit Fund, providing financial support to local initiatives with environmental, social, and net-zero objectives, for the duration of the construction and operations periods.
